About Me

advice from an expeirenced mover

During my youth, my dad was relocated for his job several times over the course of ten years. It was hard growing up going through so many moves, but it has helped me learn a lot about packing and moving. Now that I have married a soldier, all of the packing and moving skills that I picked up when I was a kid have helped me pick up and move when my husband is moved to a different base. I have created this blog with the hopes of helping other families going through moves get through them more easily and with fewer problems.

How Can A Hot Shot Trucking Service Help Your Oilfield Operations?

What do you do if your oilrig suddenly stops working and you need a critical part to get it working again? First, you find out where you can get that part in a hurry, whether from a supply depot, parts distributor, or another oilrig. Then, you call a hot shot truck service to get your part to you as soon as possible. If you don't know what a hot shot trucking service is, then keep reading so you can take advantage of it and save yourself huge costs from lost operating time.

What is a hot shot trucking service?

Hot shot trucking services are shipment services that specialize in fast, emergency movement of critical components from one place to another. Typically, a hot shot trucking service moves components using flat bed trucks, panel trucks, or even trailers.

The service knows that its trucks may have to reach out-of-the-way places, so often these trucks carry special equipment to deal with road hazards or extended travel. For example, some trucks carry extra gas tanks to extend the range of the truck, enabling a component to make it to even the most out-of-the way areas in a timely fashion.

When should you use a hot shot trucking service?

Hot shot trucking services are not cheap. You are paying for fast, reliable service to hard-to-access places. Here are some quick tips for when to use a hot shot service:

  • Your oil drilling operation is stopped due to a broken part and you can fix the problem with a component or components delivered by a single trip
  • Your critical machinery will be damaged if a component is not replaced immediately
  • You have a deadline and need non-critical machinery to be back up and operating as soon as possible
  • You are in such a remote area that the only service that can easily reach you is a hot shot trucking service

Obviously, there are other circumstances where a hot shot trucking service is a good fit. These just provide a general idea of when you would want to use one.

At the end of the day, you have to decide if you need a part right away or if you can afford to wait for standard transportation times. For most oilfield operators, they have or will face a situation where they absolutely must have a part as soon as possible. Establishing a relationship with a reliable hot shot service company like Hunters Hot Shot is important when it is just one of those critical times.
